Eastbound Again (Colour Proof 5)
A unique mixed media work combining spray paint and screen print on 300gsm Somerset Satin.
This piece is one of the last remaining colour proofs from the canvas Eastbound Again (2022), now sold. The larger work captured London’s Barbican Centre from the platform of Barbican tube station; this proof take us from the platform itself to the first the iconic towers.
Colour layers are spray painted through hand-cut stencils, built up before the final black key line is screen printed to bring the image into sharp focus. The dense pigments and layered surface give a richness and depth distinct from purely screen-printed works.
Produced as part of a series of six colour proofs, each is unique. At 56 × 76 cm, the work ships tracked worldwide in a protective cardboard tube.
