A recurring subject in my practice, the Barbican estate provides both backdrop and atmosphere here. The work begins with my own photographs before evolving into a layered composition: a lone figure, eyes down on her phone, repeats across the foreground while other passers-by drift through the scene.
Rather than capturing a single instant, the image compresses a period of time — the architecture stands still, while the people move through its shadow. Spray-painted colours overlayed with screen-printed key lines anchor the geometry of the towers, anchoring the movement of figures within its concrete frame.
