Manhattan View #1 (Colour Proof 2)
A unique mixed media work combining spray paint and screen print on 300gsm Somerset Satin.
This is the final remaining proof from the canvas Manhattan View #1 (2021), now sold. The larger work depicted the Empire State Building as seen from Dumbo, Brooklyn; this proof focuses on the crown of the Empire State rising behind the housing projects of Lower Manhattan, with one of New York’s iconic rooftop water towers completing the composition.
Colour layers are spray painted through hand-cut stencils, then finished with a black key line screen print to bring the architecture into sharp relief. The dense pigments and layered surface create a richness and depth distinct from purely screen-printed works.
Produced as part of a series of seven colour proofs, each piece is unique. 45 × 66 cm. Ships tracked worldwide in a protective cardboard tube.
